Family Life

There are many ministries within the Family Life Office. Our married couples provide preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage for those who have requested to be married in the parish. Marriage preparation includes the Engaged Encounter Weekend, a review of the FOCCUS questionnaire and Natural Family Planning. We are always looking for married couples to join this ministry.
 

FOCCUS PROGRAM
 We use a FOCCUS questionnaire with the engaged couples to make sure that they talk about all aspects of married life before they get married.  This is done by married couples from the parish who invite the young couple to their home to guide them through the questionnaire and share with them what has worked and sometimes not worked in their own marriage.

We are looking for speakers for the talks listed above and couples for the FOOCUS PROGRAM which can be done from your own home. If you can help please call:

ENGAGED ENCOUNTER WEEKENDS
 These weekends are for couples who are in our marriage preparation program.
The Next Engaged Encounter will be held on Aug 23rd and 24th, 2008.

Topics for the weekend include:

Couple Communications
Friends and Family
Intimacy in Marriage & Natural Family Planning
Finances
Sacrament of Marriage

We are now taking weddings a year in advance. Please come in to fill out an application and we will contact you.

 

MOMS MINISTRY
 We have an active MOMS Ministry, (Ministry of Mothers Sharing.)

ANNULMENTS
 Would you like to participate in a growing ministry in Family Life? Couples who have married civilly and were married before in the Catholic Church  seek a church annulment, they need someone to help them in this process.  The Archdiocese of Miami will be starting a new year of training for those who would like to learn about this important Ministry.  Please contact Susan Ackerman or Ed Kearns to find out more about the process.
