In order for a child to receive Holy Communion (Eucharist) at Our
Lady of the Lakes, they must be at least in second grade or older,
participate in two consecutive years of religious education classes
in preparation for the reception of the sacraments of Eucharist and
Penance. Traditionally, young Catholic children will make their
first confession (Penance) weeks before receiving their First
Communion.
We are sensitive to the needs of children with disabilities and
embrace them and their families and welcome them into the
sacramental life of the Church as possible. Do not let your hearts
be troubled; let’s talk about the best and most compassionate
journey for your child
Our Lady of the Lakes offers First Communion Classes on Wednesday
afternoon for grades K-5th from 4:15 to 5:45 pm (once a week)
or Classes on Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (once a
week).
