CONFIRMATION CLASSES
Confirmation is the sacrament in which the Holy Spirit comes to us in a special way to join us more closely to Jesus and his Church and to seal and strengthen us as Christ's witnesses. It is the completion of baptismal grace.
 
In the action of confirming, the anointing shows that strength and power are being received from the Holy Spirit. This anointing is a sign of our consecration to Jesus Christ.
 
In order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of the Lakes two years of religious education classes consecutives must be undertaken.
 
 
What are the requirements? (in the Archdiocese of Miami)
1. You must be at least 13 years old.
2. There is a cost for the Confirmation process. If money is an issue, you will not be turned away.
3. A copy of the candidate's baptismal certificate is required at the time of registration.
4. An interview must be scheduled with Confirmation coordinator.
5. Attendance at the Orientation Session with at least one parent is mandatory.
6. Attendance at all four Confirmation sessions from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. is mandatory.
7. Attendance in weekly classes.
8. Choose a Saint that you wish to model your life after, write a one-page paper on who the saint is, when and how they lived their lives and why you chose them.
9. You must choose a Confirmation sponsor who is a confirmed practicing Catholic.
10. All candidates are expected to attend weekly liturgy.

Grade 6th Regular Classes (Continuing Education)
(Once a week)

7th - 12th Grades Preparation of the Sacrament of Confirmation
from 7:00 - 8:30 PM
(Once a week)
 
Tuition for 1 child - $190.00 
for 2 children - $230.00
for 3 children - $270.00
 
Add Sacramental Fee of $30.00 for every child that is doing the Confirmation next year!
Minimum Deposit 30% of your total.

TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD YOU'LL NEED :

* Fill out a Registration Form

* Fill out the Census Form

* Bring Certificate of Baptism and First Communion

(If your child did both Sacraments at Our Lady of the Lakes you still need to bring them.
 

 If you are unable to come in you may also download the forms and send them to us with the copies of the Baptism,  Communion and the check payable to OLL.

 

CONFIRMATION FOR ADULTS


Classes will be held on Saturday morning in English beginning January 10th at 9:30 AM in the library of the school. You will receive a schedule on the first day.
Attendance at all sessions is absolutely required as well as work in textbook.
 
There is a fee of $40.00 for the classes which includes book and other materials.
 
There will be a Spanish class (Dates to be determined).
 
If you understand English you are encouraged to attend these classes already scheduled. 
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Thursday April 30th, 2009 at 7:00 PM.

Please download the Adult Sacramental Preparation Registration and bring it to the office with the Copy of your Certificate of Baptism.
