Religious Education

Our Lady of the Lakes Religious Education Program provides formal instruction in the faith for all children from kindergarten through grade twelve. The aim of our catechetical program is, in the words of Pope John Paul II, "to put children not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ". Recognizing that parents are the primary educators of their children, we also encourage your participation as volunteer catechists and aides.

Baptism

Baptism is the first step in our initiation into the mystery of Christ's death and resurrection. However, baptism is not just a relationship between God and us. Baptism incorporates us into a community of faith - the Body of Christ, the Church. In fact baptism celebrates the faith that transforms the lives of the parents and of the community, a faith that is shared by word and example with the newly baptized infant. Parents must understand clearly the Christian meaning of baptism, and must choose freely to celebrate the sacrament as being a time of growth in their own relationship with God and the Christian community.

Bible Study

The opportunity to come to know and love the Lord more deeply by reading and studying his word in community. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Come join us in opening our hearts to Jesus as we study the book of Revelations via Catholic Scripture Study's fully Catholic study of this often misunderstood and mysterious book of the Bible.

Emmaus

Emmaus offers a unique opportunity for personal and spiritual growth simply by discovering a new relationship with God and others.

Family Life/Weddings

The office of Family Life's staff and volunteers are dedicated to meeting the needs of our parish families. We validate the family as holy in all of the various dimensions that constitute the family unit. We recognize the multi cultural of our parish and as such offer services and programs in English and Spanish that provide resources and support to our parish families.

Life Teen

Life Teen is a model of youth ministry that encourages community, accountability and experiences for teens, leading them closer to Christ.

The Edge

The EDGE is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience created for early adolescents in grades, six, seven, and eight. The EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. Kids are always welcomed and encouraged to bring their friends to The EDGE.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry of Our lady of the Lakes Church serves its faith community proclaiming the living presence of Jesus Christ among us through the gift of music.

Pastoral Care

This ministry involves giving our sick/elderly or homebound parishioners and their families a sense of purpose in life, showing them that the parish cares about their well-being, that they are not alone, and that they are valued members of our parish family. This is a ministry of caring. In this ministry we recognize that the persons we serve are fully human, that they need to grow in their faith and that they have physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs.
